You are adding music of high cultural value to your repertoire.Hello, thanks for accepting my music ...You are adding music of high musical and cultural value to your repertoire.I composed this work based on very important gender of argentine music called copla.Ancient song originating from pre-Columbian cultures that currently survives in northwestern Argentina, (Jujuy, Salta and Tucumán provinces) and is performed only with the voice accompanied by a membrane pecussion instrument called caja. The fugated section is sustained by the beautiful rhythmic force characteristic of the chacarera genre.Currently we are several argentine composers working in diffusion of argentine music, looking for new ways to translate the inherited sound world. It is really beautiful task and it fills me whit happiness to be able to share it whit musicians from all over the world. Currently we are several Argentine composers who continue with this dissemination work. For my part, in addition to the original compositions, I am working on arranging pieces like this one that were originally conceived just as dances, for these can be enjoyed in chamber concerts and by different ensembles. This piece of music is a zamba, a dance whose music is characterized by its sweetness and slow cadence. Its meaning within its original cultural environment is that of a loving courtship between the dancers (it is a loose couple dance). There are also zambas with a stronger and more festive character called zambas carperas. It is one of the most widespread genres of Argentine music.
